I have been a SAHM home for 6 weeks.. From one who doesn't even lift a finger on picking up something on the floor, to one who cleans the home daily, wash, dry and fold the clothes, cooks lunch and dinner etc..
My 1st 2 weeks, the family was ill, my husband was hospitalized and suspected of H1N1, followed by my lil princess, and then the boys and myself caught the virus. It was a horrible 2 weeks, and thank god, we all recovered.
My 3rd week, my husband was on mc still, so we were loitering the streets with lesser meals to cook and little housework was done.
4th and the 5th weeks were horrible! My husband went back to work, i was left on my own to manage the housework and kids! To make matters worse, i don't know how to use the mop! So, every evening when my husband return home, it was a messy house, uncooked or burnt food placed on the table! At the end of week 4, we came to a conclusion.. We needed a thermal cooker! So we hunted for 1, and bought it. Well, food placed on the table was so much better compared to previously as there was soup and meat or chicken stuffs in the soup (oh well, i was feeling less guilty as the kids and my husband were having decent food at least compared to uncooked/burnt food). I've learnt to also stir-fry and steam vegetables for them. Occasionally, fry an egg etc.. Housework wise, i did up a washing timetable, so it was easy for the kids to know which day i am washing which pail of clothes and Sam offered to help remove all the bed-sheets on wednesday so that i can wash them.
Week 6, we went to Frisk and Romp on Wednesday with Sam and Grace. Friday morning to Botanical Gardens with Grace to learn about "Plants" for her lapbook. :) Housework has definitely gotten easier although the house is still not in a completely clean condition, but well, i need TIME..
For now, i am glad that my kids are more independent than they used to be and, they help out with the housework. Grace included.. :)
