The Latest Toy at Home

Nick has been learning the electone for quite some time already.  He's been practicing his pieces using the old keyboard that mummy has. Yesterday, while the kids were away, mummy had time to google and look for some 2nd hand electone, and chanced upon this that was going at $150.

It's not a latest model or anything huge and impressive, mummy thinks it's probably one that mummy used when she was a little girl, so it could mean it's approx. 10-15 years old..  But for $150 bucks, mummy couldn't resist the temptation!  Mummy sms-ed the seller and to asked on the condition and if the price is negotiable, and decided to view it with daddy that same night.

After viewing the item, mummy decided to get it from Nick, offered $120 for the item instead of $150. The seller accepted the offer, and even helped daddy to load it into the car!

And here we are, home with our new toy! :P

Mummy thinks if Nick is willing to spend time practicing on the instrument, and use it for the next 2 years at least, her $120 bucks is well spent!

Daddy, although wasn't too supportive of the decision to purchase this, told Nick if he really enjoys playing the electone, he has to practice hard and daddy will upgrade the electone to one that he uses in class (which i heard from the teacher, it costs almost 7k)!

PS Daddy :  I hope u mean it cos mummy will from now insist Nick practice cos mummy also likes that model! This one is such a far cry from the EL900 series that grandpa bought for mummy when she was learning the electone.

* Grandpa was pretty upset when he came over and saw the electone that mummy bought! He was grumbling that there wasn't ebay at that time, that he ended up paying  almost 20k for mummy's electone and mummy only learned for 2 years and gave up learning afterthat!  Well, grandpa's 20k wasn't spent for nothing! At least, mummy learnt that she shouldn't cough out that much on the children's instrument until they are very interested to continue learning it after a few years!

PPS : Not sure if it's only grandpa and daddy, but it seems like the man in our family isn't very keen on the kids learning music!
